Configuring HP Integrated Lights-Out (iLO) - HP Proliant Server

HP Integrated Lights-Out (iLO) management processors for HP ProLiant servers virtualizes system controls to help simplify server setup, engage health monitoring and power and thermal control, and promote remote administration of HP ProLiant ML, DL, and BL servers. HP iLO functions out-of-the-box without additional software installation and functions regardless of the servers' state of operation. Basic system board management functions, diagnostics, and essential Lights-Out functionality ship standard, with selected HP ProLiant 300/500/700 rack and tower servers, as well as selected HP ProLiant blade servers. The HP iLO can be accessed from any location via a web browser and works hand-in-hand with HP Systems Insight Manager, Insight Control, and Insight Dynamics, helping customers unleash the value of the ProLiant platform and deliver the highest possible quality of IT service to the business.

The following steps will help to configure ilo in HP Proliant Servers :

1. First  locate the ilo Port at the back of the server and connect the network cable from network.

2. Locate the HP Password tag, that contains the default ilo password and settings information.

3. Press F8 at Post to enter BIOS of iLO.
4. Configure a static IP for the ilo.

5. After configuring the IP address you can also change the password in the same window.
6. Save the settings, and log into any browser, and type the IP address of the ilo and it will give you the ilo window.
